California and Nature

California is home of some of the most beautiful hiking in the country. Here's a description of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park from their website:

“Huge mountains, rugged foothills, deep canyons, vast caverns, and the world’s largest trees exemplify the diversity of landscapes, life, and beauty here. Explore these pages to learn about the plants and animals here and the threats they face. Our ancient giant sequoias may seem invincible, but they, too are vulnerable.”

There are all kinds of hiking here in California. Some people like to go on day hikes right in the middle of the city. Some traverse longer trail and stay overnight at campsites. There are plenty of day hikes, 5 to 8 miles long, but will still allow you to be home for dinner (or even lunch if your an avid hiker!) However, our favorite kind of hiking, be it a day hike or a long overnighter, are ones with waterfalls!
